The Regional Transportation District (RTD) consists of bus, rail, and light rail public transportation service in the greater Denver area. It connects the city to eight of twelve surrounding municipalities, such as Boulder and Aurora. RTD Denver, including RTD light rail, serves nearly 3.1 million people and covers more than 2,000 square miles.
